Islamabad:
Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed by the federal government has summoned 16 members, including senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf (PTI), to investigate negative propaganda on social media.
Sources said that JIT re -summoned 16 PTI persons involved in negative propaganda and notices have been issued to the JIT on March 18, 2025.
Sources said that the 16 persons who have been summoned by JIT include Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Khalid Khurshid Khan, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hamad Azhar, Aun Abbas, Mohammad Shahbaz Shabbir, Waqas Akram, Timur Saleem Khan, Sibghatullah Work, Azhar Mashwani, Mohammed Naaman Raza, Jabran, Al -Alam, Zaman, Zaman, Al -Alam.
Earlier, PTI chairman Barrister Gohar, Rauf Hassan and Shah Farman appeared before the JIT, while on March 14, 2025, founder PTI’s sister, Alima Khan, did not appear.
Sources said that JIT has now issued a notice to Alima Khan on March 19 and JIT is investigating all these persons in light of evidence, investigations against these persons are being investigated in connection with anti -state propaganda.
It may be recalled that JIT was formed under section 30 of the Electronic Crime Prevention Act 2016 by notification F.NO.8/9/2024-FIA/, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) is investigating Islamabad.
Notices by JIT have warned all these persons to explain their position on the matter.
